Our English Breakfast is one of the most popular Black Tea blends in English tea culture. This classic formula is ideal to enjoy at breakfast with milk and sugar, in true English style.
The Black Teas used in this blend may vary. Typically, the predominant teas are Assam, Ceylon, Darjeeling, or Kenyan tea. Keemun Black Tea may be included in more premium blends.
Ingredients: Blend of selected Black Teas from the regions of Assam, Ceylon, and Darjeeling.
Origin of Black Tea
Black Tea is produced from the more mature leaves of the Camellia sinensis shrub. Compared to other teas, Black Tea has the highest level of oxidation, which results in a more intense flavor. After harvesting, the green leaves undergo an osmosis process lasting up to 20 hours. They are then rolled by hand or by machine, initiating oxidation. Finally, the leaves are naturally dried.
Due to its high caffeine content, Black Tea may increase energy levels and affect the balance of the nervous system. It is best consumed during the day, preferably without added sugar. Drink it to reduce fatigue, support weight loss, and relieve poor digestion. Compared to coffee, Black Tea can stimulate energy levels for 4 to 6 hours.
Darjeeling: curiosities
The city of Darjeeling (or Darjiling) is located in the state of West Bengal, in northern India, and is divided between hills and plains. The name “Darjeeling” derives from the combination of the terms “dorje” and “ling,” meaning “thunder on the land.” Darjeeling Black Tea is known as the “Champagne of Teas” or the “Champagne of Black Tea,” remembered for its slightly sweet taste and floral aroma.
