Curiosities:
Wild Rose — During World War II, soldiers consumed wild rose fruits as a natural way to obtain vitamin C. These fruits contain a high amount of this vitamin, essential for strengthening the immune system, helping maintain resistance under wartime conditions. In addition, vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation, supporting the proper functioning of blood vessels, bones, cartilage, skin, gums, and teeth, as well as protecting cells against unwanted oxidation.
Sunflower — The sunflower is a dicotyledonous plant from the Asteraceae family, originating in western North America, and can reach up to 4 meters in height. It is believed that its first cultivation began around 4,500 years ago by indigenous peoples. Its scientific name, Helianthus annuus, translates to “sun flower.” Due to its vibrant colors, the sunflower is believed to transmit happiness and positivity to those around it. It is known for growing toward the sun until it dies and for blooming throughout the year at temperatures between 18º and 30º.
Safflower — Safflower is considered a medicinal plant with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. It may help control cholesterol levels and support weight loss. Its origin is unknown, although it is believed to have existed for over 4,000 years. Highly resistant to different climates, its petals may help strengthen the immune system, reduce appetite, promote weight loss, and relieve joint pain.
Water temperature: 100º
Infusion time: 3 to 5 minutes.
Recommended amount: 1 teaspoon per person. Approximately 4 g per cup.
Preparation method: Place 1 teaspoon in a container with previously boiled water. Cover and let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Finally, strain and the tea is ready to drink, hot or cold.
Storage: Store in a dry (max. 20º) and cool place (max. 60% humidity).
How to prepare iced tea:
Place two tablespoons of tea in 1.5 L of boiled water, allow it to cool, then refrigerate. If you wish to add sugar, do so while the tea is still hot. For a healthier option, add 1 dessert spoon of stevia (do not infuse it for more than 3 minutes, or the drink will become too sweet). This way, you obtain a wonderful iced tea with no added sugars or artificial preservatives.
