What is Rooibos Tea?
Rooibos is a shrub exclusive to South Africa. Also known as Red Tea due to its color, Rooibos should not be confused with Red Pu Erh Tea (Camellia sinensis). Rooibos tea contains no caffeine and can therefore be consumed by anyone. It does not become bitter even if left to infuse for a long time. Our Rooibos has a high concentration of flavonoids, making it a powerful detox ingredient for those who want to lose weight. After training, Rooibos tea is an excellent ally in recovering from micro-injuries, as well as helping with hydration and strengthening the immune system.

The species Aspalathus linearis is cultivated by 400 local producers exclusively in the beautiful mountainous region of Cederberg, South Africa. The term “linearis” derives from the long, pointed shape of Rooibos leaves. In this country, Rooibos tea is usually consumed with a slice of lemon, honey, or sugar. It is also common to reuse the same infusion and reheat it during the first 48 hours. Most exports are destined for the United States of America and Germany.

Curiosities:
Native to Central America and Southwest Asia, lemongrass belongs to the Poaceae family and is highly appreciated in the Caribbean, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Australia. This rustic herb thrives in mild environments with humidity and good sun exposure. In several countries, it is used as a vegetable and aromatic herb in culinary dishes combined with grated coconut, curry, fish, ginger, and meat. Fast-growing, lemongrass contributes to physical and mental well-being. Lemongrass tea is recommended for both hot and cold days.

In Suriname (South America), this herb is used to combat coughs, asthma, headaches, and fever. In the West, it is used as a digestive tonic and a natural calming agent for the nervous system.
